The Tupolev Ty-144 was the first Supersonic transport to fly. This particular example, CCCP-77115, never saw airline service with Aeroflot, and was instead used by the Soviet Air Force and the Soviet space program to train pilots to fly the Бура́н Space Shuttle. In storage since the mid 1980’s, this aircraft is now being refurbished for its new life as the center piece of a new museum being built and the famed Zhukovsky Air Field outside Moscow.
