Yakovlev Yak-141 141 White

Designed to replace the Yak-38, the Yak-41 (more commonly known as the Yak-141) was a supersonic V/TOL aircraft. Only two examples were completed. 144 White, seen here and originally 75 White, was teh first airframe completed and the first to fly. In many ways, the Yak-41 can, and should, be considered the father of the Lockheed F-35. In the mid 1990's, Lockheed licensed the technology for the Yak-41's unique engine rotating exhaust nozzle and built the technology into the F-35.
